Events

Event #1: Last weekend our family (except Josh who had to take a test), traveled to Branson, MO, for a mini-vacation with my family-to-be. It was a wonderful trip filled with many good memories. I so enjoyed spending time with everyone. Did you know that I am going to have 9 nieces and nephews after I get married? How much better could it get?

Event #2: Mark took me to see Pride & Prejudice while I was in Missouri. It was interesting to compare how the two movies portrayed various aspects of Austen's novel. (By the two movies, I am referring to the A&E version of P&P and the new movie that just came out in theaters.) I enjoyed the new version, though there are aspects of the A&E version that I like better. They both have their strengths. While watching the movie in the theater, I found myself grateful that I knew the story line so well. That movie was so fast paced! I think it would have been hard to follow if you were unfamiliar with the events taking place.

Event #3: Next Tuesday I am going to take my last final exam. Ever. I'm so excited! I was reading my journal last night, and it was quite amusing how many entries I've written over the years about hating college and not being able to wait until I'm finished. Well, it's finally here!

Event #4: My dad flew to Fairhope, AL, yesterday morning to visit my granddad. He (my granddad) was having some complications with his health, and my dad wanted to be there because it was somewhat serious. Papa Inge is doing better now. I was crocheting him a blanket for Christmas and I finished it right before Dad left for Alabama. The blanket was delivered in person. (At least I assume it was. Dad hasn't actually told me whether he gave Papa the blanket yet or not, but I'm sure he did.)

Event #5: We had a winter storm here!!! It sleeted and snowed and froze everyone and everything! Yesterday morning the wind chill factor brought the temperature down to 1 degree. This morning we had a record low temperature of 15 degrees. (That's somewhat amusing since last Saturday we had a record high temperature of 89 degrees.) I passed so many cars in ditches on the sides of the road yesterday; it was almost humorous. Mark says Texans don't know how to drive on ice.

Event #6:
This actually isn't an event, I just wanted to post a picture of my cute little sister. This is Abigail Grace. Helpful, happy and hopefully healthy soon (she has a bad cough), she is the best little sister a girl could have. Besides the other two, of course.

Well, that's all for now folks.
