Wedding Planning

The wedding is getting close! It's so close now, that I don't even have to refer to Tim's comments to know how many more days I have to go! I am most excited!

Wedding planning has gone reasonably smooth – with a few bumps in the road along the way. Mom and I have been working on all the many details for weeks now. It is amazing to me how much time it takes to plan a wedding! Seemingly little things, like finding blue, white and silver ribbon for the bride's/bridesmaids' bouquets, can take days. We visited every Wal-mart and craft/hobby store in the Fort Worth area - and then had to visit them all again! If I had been smart, I would have just ordered the ribbon off of the internet. Live and learn :) At this point, the wedding preparations are slowing down. There are lots of little things that we still have to take care of, but the majority of the major tasks are completed. For the next couple of weeks, I hope to focus more on preparing to move into our home in Carthage, Missouri. Life is certainly full of many responbilities!

God bless!

I wanted to post this on Mark's blog, but I am not a blogger and so am unable to post a comment there.

I want to say congratulations to both of you on your recent wedding!!

Mark, I am just a little concerned about you saying that you have "a bride that will love and serve ME with her whole heart." Are not we commanded to love the LORD OUR GOD with our whole heart? If her goal is to love you with her whole heart, she will burn out. The goal of your marriage should be that each of you love the Lord thy God with your whole heart. Only then will you be able to build a strong marriage.

    Dear Grace,

I would have to take disagreement with you in using one small statement that I made and construing it out of proper context with what I was actually saying about my wife and the role that she has in my life as my helpmeet and friend.

I appreciate your opinion as to the goal of marriage and I also appreciate the fact that you would share that with me in the context of a blog comment as general advice. However, not knowing me, the relationship I have with my wife, or having any authority to address our marriage specifically, I would have to say that you concern is misplaced.
